Balance pods that look like small colorful igloos may be misleading to those who see them merely as kid’s toys. Yet once you experience using these pods you soon will realize that these are not for kids. Although they may think otherwise, balance pods work with just about anyone that puts two feet forward. But what is it that something so small, and knobby to the touch that makes people actually step on seem so beneficial? The answer is as simple as keeping ones balance.
Lay these pods on the floor in random patterns and work on balance and stability exercises. These exercises can start with walking to hoping on them, forward, side-to-side or backwards. With many options nothing has to be structured. Use them placed close together or far apart. You’re limited only by your imagination.
Try standing on one foot for an extended period of time, and then switch to the other foot. Do a few sets of this then do the same exercise but this time while you stand on one foot – perform a squat. You have just made more instability in your workout. And oh yeah, don’t forget to switch feet. Kid’s toys they are not but don’t be surprised your little ones would want in on the action.
