Easter is a time of rebirth, renewal, and that clean feeling of spring. This year why not go green with your Easter basket. What better a way to give the Easter spirit, than by giving back to mother earth along with your Easter gifts recipient.
Reuse, recycle, and restore is the perfect theme for an Easter basket. Take the cookie gift basket itself for example. We all remember those bright pink and green plastic baskets with the shiny plastic grass that gets everywhere. Make the basket part of the gift. Have a young lady on your list? A purse or tote bag would make a perfect basket. For the young man, a tackle box or gym bag would be perfect.
Filling a “green” basket is easy, just be creative and fun. Instead of the plastic grass, stick with your theme of the basket used. Plastic worms in a tackle box, or a t-shirt of his favorite team inside the gym bag. Sometimes filler is not needed, such as the case with the young lady’s purse. Do keep in mind however if you are a traditionalist, remember don’t throw it out after just one use. Why make it sit in a landfill for years when you can reuse it?
