The Bastard Sword is a medieval sword that was used in Europe during the dark ages. The sword is a Hanwei reproduction that has been created by Paul Chen. The sword has been named bastard sword as it is French originated word that refers to ‘a hand and a half sword’ or ‘long sword’. The sword was originally created for foot soldiers and was used everywhere in Europe during the 1500’s.

The blade of the sword is tapered or narrowly pointed at the end of the blade. The handle of the sword is long, which is good enough for two-handed use. The long blade and the long handle made it excellent for adding in extra power when fighting against the enemies. Because of its long reach and excellent thrusting and cutting abilities it was predominantly used by Medieval Knights.

The blade of the sword is double edged and the length of the entire sword ranges from 40-48 inches. The handle of the sword measures at 10-15 inched in length. It weighs around 5-8 pounds and was primarily used for striking a huge blow at the enemy. The entire sword is well finished and looks rough because of its antique patina finish.
